Karin van der Walt
  • Karin's Story

    Karin received her bachelors degree in Speech-Language and Hearing therapy at the University of Stellenbosch. She also has completed her Masters degree in Clinical Speech and Language Studies (Dysphagia) at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. She has worked as a speech-language Therapist in wide array of settings around the Gauteng area. Karin began her career as a Speech-Language Therapist at Chris Hani-Baragwanath Academic Hospital where she provided individual therapy for children and babies. After completing her Masters in Ireland Karin worked at an Early Intervention Centre in Pretoria. Here she specialized in early intervention assessment and therapy and continued to improve her skills as a feeding specialist.

    Most recently, Karin worked as a Speech and Language Therapist in a Private Practice in Johannesburg. Here she conducted feeding assessment and treatment in a hospital setting as well as in a multi-disciplinary team setting. She also provided early intervention assessments and treatments and thorough pre-school assessment and treatment.
